Rakaposhi is 11th highest in Pakistan and ranking 27th in World. The possibility of options to climb this peak from all sides lured the first Dutch expedition in summer 1938. Similarly in 1947 Tilman launched from the Kunti glicier but could not summit it. In 1954 six climbers including few scientists decided to climb it through the southwest spur but due to worst condition of weather kept away from summit.In 1958 the British, Pakistan joint expedition tried to defeat and some extent succeeded after getting frost bitten feet rakaposhi-expedition-pakistan

Rakaposhi, is one of the most magnificent peak found in the world today. It is situated near the town of Gilgit and with a height of 7,788m/25,551ft it is easily climbable from all sides. The peak dominates the horizon and is constantly visible from the Karakoram Highway. It looks so beautiful that at first glance inspires charm and lures an onlooker to be in its abode. Accessing the peak is quite easy, which only adds to its attraction. The peak is surrounded by famous glaciers/valleys like Barpu, Biro, Bagrot and Pisan. In 1892, a large expedition of W.M. Conway, a British traveler and mountaineer explored the Barpu valley. The party also explored the nearby Bagrot valley. In order to visit the valley, Conway had to travel from Srinagar to Gilgit over Burzil pass. In those days this was the only identified and permissible route to enter the area

Itinerary

Day 1 Islamabad

You will be greeted by the team of Tour De Rakaposhi at Islamabad International airport then transfer you along with your luggage to the centrally located hotel in Islamabad check-in at the hotel after a short rest then we will go for Islamabad city tour visiting Fasial mosque, Lok Versa, Pakistan Monument, Saidpur Village, and Damen Koh. Overnight stay in Islamabad

Day 2 Islamabad – Chilas

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Chilas via Babusar Pass lunch break at Naran then further drive to Chilas arrival in Chilas check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Chilas.

Day 3 Chilas – Mainpin

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Mainpin en route we will stop at the junction point of the three mountain range where they meet at one point than further drive to Mainpin arrival in Mainpin check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Mainpin.

Day 4 Mainpin – Hapakun

Trek to Hapakun a steep slope starts from Minapin. Three hours trek is through a Juniper forest. Overnight Camping at Hapakun.

Day 5 Hapakun – Tagafari

Trek to Tagafari trail through the forest takes 3-4 hours with excellent views of Diran. Overnight Camping at Tagafari.

Day 06 to Day 30 Acclimatization and Climbing :

Climbing days at Rakaposhi Peak base camp.

Day 31 Rakaposhi base camp – Minapin – Karimabad

Trek down to Minapin. Overnight stay in Minapin Valle

Day 32 Karimabad – Naran:

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Naran Valley via Babusar Pass arrival in Naran Valley check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Naran Valley.

Day 33 Naran – Islamabad:

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Islamabad arrive in Islamabad check in at hotel. Overnight stay in Islamabad

Route Via Juglot Day 1 Islamabad:

Day 5 Trek – Darkush – Rakaposhi base camp:

In the morning after breakfast we will start the trek toward the Rakaposhi base camp on Kunti glacier. Overnight Camping at Rakaposhi base camp.

Day 06-Day 36 Acclimatization and Climbing

Day 37 Rakaposhi base camp – Darakush:

Trek down to Darakush. Overnight Camping at Darakush.

Day 38 Joglot – Chilas:

Trek down to Joglot and then drive to Chilas. Overnight stay in Chilas.

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Islamabad arrive in Islamabad check in at hotel. Overnight stay in Islamabad

Day 40 Islamabad

In the morning after breakfast we will drop you at the airport to catch the flight back home.
