This is a steep relentless tough climb The trail rises in a series of zigzags directly behind camp gaining 700m up a dry and dusty path with few places to stop and rest. The trail leads directly to the crest of the ridge that separates the valley of the Barpu Glacier from the Hispar to the North. The trail turns Southwards and follows the broad crest of this ridge over a less steep group for a further 350m to reach the campsite at Chiden Haral. It takes about 6 hours to get to the campsite. The views of the peaks above the Hispar Glacier are outstanding. Overnight Camping at Rush Lake.
Today after an early breakfast peak ascent start is required to get a good chance of clear skies and the best views of the more distant peaks. The tough section is only the final 150 m climb of the summit cone which needs to be climbed with care (5-7 hrs round trip).Overnight Camping at Rush Lake.
